第五十三章   唯施是畏

使我介然有知，行于大道，唯施是畏。大道甚夷，而民好径。朝甚除，田甚芜，仓甚虚；服文采，带利剑，厌饮食，财货有馀，是为盗夸。非道也哉！

Practicing is Tough

Even though I sensedthe universal intelligence, and wish that I would live in accordance with Tao,but I know it is very hard for people to be enlighteded tobehave within Tao.

The Great Way to Tao is very even,

yet people are addicted to bypaths.

Some abandon the rule of greetingtheir parents in the moring,

While the fields areexceedingly weedy, And the granaries are exceedingly empty.

Yet some wear embroideredclothes, carry fancy swords, over-indulge themselves with food and drink, andhave more possessions than they can use.

All thsese deeds are calledruining the Tao,

They are heading against theTao.

既使我确信自己感悟了宇宙万物之本源，全力实践大道，但深知弘扬道德之任十分艰难。大道至深至简，但人们却喜欢走斜径。有人除去早晨为父母请安的礼节而离家出走，田地荒芜了，仓库空虚了。还有些人则贪恋舒适的生活环境，追求名利而招摇过市，吃喝玩乐，而且为富不仁。

这两类人都是在身外求道，欺世盗名，这都是背道而驰呀！
